About the Role
As the Compliance Officer, you will support the delivery of a safe, sustainable and effective built environment at RMIT, through providing high-quality administration and coordination support to the Property Services Reporting and Compliance team. You will have exposure to important functions of the wider Property Services Group (PSG), including sustainability, contractor safety, hazardous materials management, report and data management and compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Property Services group (Capital Works and Facilities Management) to ensure high risk work is assessed and approved.- Coordinate the inputs and outputs of the RMIT PSG Permit to Work System- Administration and coordination of PSG contractors through our Contractor Management System.- Coordination of activities that ensure RMIT continues to meet its legal obligations with respect to Hazardous Material Management.- Maintaining accuracy and quality of information in Contractor Management System and RMIT Hazardous Materials Database.
About You
To be successful in this position, you’ll also have:
- Excellent communication skills.- High-level organisational and time-management skills.- An understanding of quality, accuracy, and compliance as they relate to safety - in particular contractor management, high risk work, and Hazardous Material management.- Demonstrated knowledge of data management, Integrated Management Systems standards, construction and/or building operations would be advantageous.- A commitment to continuous improvement.
About the Group
Property Services is located in the Operations Portfolio which is the services nucleus of RMIT and the focus for the development of the finance, people development infrastructure and systems that provide administrative capacity to the University.
Property Services has approximately 100 staff and has the responsibility to operate, maintain and enhance the buildings owned and leased by RMIT University, oversee construction projects and ensure the provision of physical facilities services.
The Group has an operating budget in excess of $80M and prospective capital projects of over $50M per annum for the next few years in Melbourne and Vietnam. RMIT's built environment involves approximately 110 buildings in Melbourne spread across all of RMIT's campuses and sites.
