Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to the Group’s marketing, external and internal affairs, communications, sustainability and corporate governance.
MCA consists of Corporate Affairs (Communications, Corporate Responsibility, Community, Strategy, Government, Industry & International Affairs), and Marketing.
MCA’s purpose is to build and leverage relationships that protect and enhance CBA’s reputation. We work as trusted partners to engage and influence stakeholders to build equity in the brand, increase its competitive advantage and support the Group’s business success and market value.

**About your team**:
The Group Media Centre of Excellence (CoE) is part of the broader MCA team which is responsible for delivering proactive, impactful and cohesive communications plans to protect and enhance the Group’s reputation. The team manages relationships with the media and supports key business stakeholders on internal communications planning and delivery.

With the introduction of PACE, you will flow to work and provide assistance to teams that require it.

**Your responsibilities**:
Group Media CoE is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with the media, communicating business strategy and financial events, and supporting broader issues that may impact the Group and its reputation.

The position is a broad role which covers communication planning and implementation. Some of your specific responsibilities will include:
Media relations
- Be the first line of contact in liaising with media for the Group.
- Support the development of strong media relationships through proactive outreach, events and other activities.
- Actively seek and identify opportunities to share CBA stories through the media.
- Deliver quality, timely and accurate media monitoring, reports, transcripts and analysis.
- Support various internal and external media events.
- Maintain and develop media lists and databases.

Communications
- Write and prepare clear and engaging content (news articles, video and social content) for Commonwealth Bank’s channels including CBA Newsroom.
- Support the development of editorial calendars and delivery of consistent messaging across the organisation.
- Support CBA’s Communication calendar including aspects of communications of financial results, annual general meetings and other reporting or inquiries as they arise.
- Manage the relationship between Streem (CBA's media monitoring platform).
- Manage the distribution of Streem's monthly media analysis pack.
- Train new starters in the back end processes (The News Today, Master Calendar, DMR, Telum and Streem).
- Manage the end to end of all internal rosters (The News Today roster and PM/Weekend phone roster).
- Develop and support internal communications as required.
- Contribute to communications projects across the function.

Public Affairs & Issues Management
- Identify any potential reputational issues that may affect the organisation and its operations. Working with Group Communications colleagues, the role supports the early identification and effective management of potential reputational issues.
- Develop communications plans and materials to support business and employee engagement with key stakeholders and customers.
- Contribute to issues and crisis management planning.

**Your skills & experience**:

- You will need 1-2 years’ experience in Corporate Affairs, Communications, Media or Agency role.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, communications, journalism or other relevant discipline.
