One of the largest science and technology libraries in Australia, CSIRO Library Services delivers innovative information services and resources to support CSIRO research. We provide the tools and training to allow staff to access and use information faster and smarter, and we are a key enabler of CSIRO research outcomes and increased citation rates. Teams work in a distributed environment to support researchers located across Australia and overseas. The library is at an exciting time, working through year one of a new two-year plan.
The Library Collections team is responsible for access and the day-to-day management of CSIRO’s print repository and physical library presence at the Black Mountain site. CSIRO’s print collection consists of over 17km of important science resources housed in purpose-built facilities.
As well as responsibility for the overall management of the print collection, the Coordinator will manage the document delivery service for CSIRO researchers and external libraries, transition digitisation initiatives into business-as-usual services, and ensure effective circulation of print resources. This hands-on role ensures that the library is a welcoming space and a valuable resource for CSIRO researchers and external users.
Lifting will be required in accordance with safe work practices. Travel may be required to other CSIRO sites within Australia.
**Your duties will include**:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library facility ensuring that services meet or exceed key performance indicators and user expectations.
- Provide leadership and supervision to a team and take responsibility for performance management and career development.
- Actively manage a busy document delivery service providing fast access to resources to both CSIRO researchers and external libraries.
- Lead efforts to transition digitisation initiatives to business-as-usual, and increase the online availability of CSIRO published research.
- Ensure that our print collection is a valued resource that users can easily find, access and request, and maintain the library as a welcoming space.
- Work collaboratively to build strong and productive relationships with teams and CSIRO staff located at Black Mountain and across Australia.

**To be considered you will need**:
**Essential Selection Criteria**:
- Effective team management skills and demonstrated ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork to achieve strategic and operational plans. Capacity to manage a geographically dispersed team.
- Extensive experience in managing a busy document delivery service and an awareness of relevant networks, sources, and systems.
- Record of accomplishment in managing programs to digitise print library resources.
- Experience in the management of a large print collection, as well understanding of collection development principles in a modern library service.
- Exceptional time management skills with proven experience in managing competing priorities to ensure team performance indicators are met. Ability to lead and contribute to projects.
- Record of accomplishment in leading the delivery of customer-focused library services to support research. Proven experience in service innovation in response to a changing environment to meet the needs of users.
