**EL2 - Director, Curatorial and Collection Research (Commissioned)**:

As a world leading library, the National Library of Australia offers an innovative and collaborative workplace where exceptional collaborators team players and technical specialists can flourish. As part of the Library’s team, you will help support organisational reform, working collaboratively with your team to shape the Library’s future.
This leadership role is integral to identifying, building and sustaining relationships with a network of people and organisations to enhance the Library’s collections including oral historians, photographers, publishers, creators, vendors, specialist organisations and key individuals, as well as Library colleagues.
You will provide your specialist expertise and advice in the development of Library programs and campaigns and representing the Library in a range of forums, including writing and presenting papers, and in the media.
As a senior leader in the branch and organisation, you will provide strategic direction to the Curatorial and Collection Research Section by developing business priorities and project plans. These have strategic, political and operations significance including appraising future trends and developments that shapes corporate goals and priorities.
To see you succeed in this role it is desirable that you:
- hold qualifications or equivalent experience in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or a related field.
- experience with developing and building collections in the Australian cultural heritage collecting sector.
