Quality Assurance Coordinator

Multifaceted Quality role with a large product range to keep you on your toes

A position for an experienced Quality Assurance professional is available with a successful food business based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. The objective of this position is to assist the QA Manager with all things quality and food safety and contribute to the further development of a quality minded site culture. There is opportunity for career advancement and skills development as the company continues to grow and be successful.
Working in a small but high performing team, your new role will involve developing strong working relationships internally with all staff and externally with customers, other businesses, external consultants and suppliers. You will use your strong communication and rapport building skills to ensure all quality standards and procedures on site are effective and being followed. You will lead by example by assisting process and production staff when required and help to develop their knowledge of food safety and site certified standards.
Typical duties include:
- Conduct internal gap audits to ensure the site is audit ready all the time.
- Work with staff to further develop their knowledge in GMP and HACCP procedures.
- Maintain various internal QA programs e.g. hygiene, approved suppliers, and pest control.
- Respond and resolve customer complaints.
- Coordinate product testing with third parties.
- Create documentation and SOPs for new products.
- Take the lead on product labelling and work with packaging suppliers.
- Ensure product traceability from suppliers to the consumer.
- Ensure product weights and measures are to standard.
- Lead quality in the manager’s absence.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.
- Assist with external audits and work with the QA manager to close our non-conformances.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
The following qualifications, skills and experience will ensure your success:
- Qualifications in food science & technology or a related field of science or qualified by experience.
- Quality Assurance Officer or coordinator experience within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and GMP.
- Experience with GFSI and retailer standards is highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal.
- A proactive can-do and team attitude.

**Salary**: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
