Job Description:
Summary/Objective

The Repair Technician is an integral part of ensuring successful patient outcomes for our customers by helping maintain critical performance and safety functions of their biomedical equipment, including medical and veterinary therapeutic lasers and other veterinary diagnostic equipment, through routine calibrations and maintenance and advanced repairs. This role also supports the Customer Care and Service Departments by providing technical feedback, performing requested services, and participating in service trend reviews with the R&D, Engineering and Quality Teams on a regular basis to drive design improvements. In addition, this role occasionally supports manufacturing by performing technical rework and refurb jobs.

Essential Functions
- Diagnose and repair laser systems and other therapeutic and diagnostic equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and service in accordance with service manuals
- Ensure product meets critical operating specifications
- Solder and repair to component level (electronic)
- Assemble and test optical components and beam delivery systems
- Perform mechanical and electrical rework
- Perform complex diagnostic tests as well as visual inspections
- Document and produce detailed service and repair reports including repair estimates
- Perform basic data entry functions in Oracle to complete service records
- Assist R&D and Quality Engineering in product failure and complaint investigations
- Assist Customer Care by providing technical feedback
- Support continual improvement of troubleshooting guides and preventive maintenance recommendations
- Follow company policies and procedures related to servicing medical devices

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand tools. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.

No travel required. All work is performed on-site.

Required Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in a technical field
- 1-2 years of biomedical equipment service and repair experience
- 4-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2-3 of biomedical equipment service and repair experience
