**YMCA Vocational Schools** provide adjusted education programs and vocational training to secondary students, who would benefit from an alternative learning environment. **We are looking for a **Youth Worker VET (Vocational Education and Training) on a Ful-Time, 38 hours a week basis** to deliver well-being programs and lead on pastoral care of our students at our **Ipswich Senior Campus**

The School is a "Special Assistance School" and offers courses assisting disengaged students in having a "Real Opportunity" to achieve their full potential through positive educational studies, activities and outcomes. We believe all young people have the right to achieve their full potential irrelevant of circumstance.

**THE PERSON**

The ideal applicant will be looking for a challenge, have a passion for working with young people, a strong interest in the development of the holistic person, a personal interest in health, spirituality and personal well-being.

They will also have a commitment to a client-centred approach, creative and innovative youth work practice and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

**More specifically you will be able to meet the following key selection criteria**:

- Hold a Certificate III or above in Youth Work or other relevant tertiary qualification;
- Be able to demonstrate relevant practical experience in providing program delivery, education support services and case management to marginalised young people;
- A demonstrated ability to facilitate group programs and activities that are engaging and inspiring for young people;
- Be able to demonstrate the importance of following procedures and ensuring a safe educational environment at all times;
- An understanding of how to effectively support the individual well-being, academic and vocational needs of students;
- Be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current Blue Card.
