**Role**:
Assist with communication between the students and teachers, particularly the interpretation of instructions
- Ensure work areas and materials, equipment and appliances are maintained in a clean and ready to use condition.

Perform administration tasks across the College as directed by the Principal or delegate.
- Perform routine tasks that ensure Sick Bay is maintained including
- Students attending Sick Bay are attended to appropriately.
- Ensure parent / guardian contact occur where necessary.
- Ensure supplies are maintained at all times.
- Ensure Office is informed of student¿s absences from class due to being in Sick Bay
- Ensure Office is informed of student¿s being collected by parents, due to illness.
- Create and maintain accurate student records of Sick Bay attendance.
- Ensure staff are informed of relevant information and detail pertaining to Sick Bay processes.
- Monitor student¿s attendance at Sick Bay and inform relevant Student Manager / Assistant Student Manager of concerns.
- Ensure any changes to student contact details are relayed to Office.
- Where relevant, consult with Student Welfare Coordinator where student welfare concerns arise.
- Ensure all First Aid Kits are regularly checked and fully resourced.
- Ensure current and relevant displays in Sick Bay.
- Perform relevant clerical duties.

**Responsibilities**:
The First Aid Officer will be required to assist with first aid for students. The ability to adapt and attempt new tasks at the direction of the Business Manager and Principal will be essential in this role.
- Attend to students and staff who present for first aid treatment
- Administer medication to students requiring daily medication
- Communicate with parents regarding injured or ill students
- Maintain records of all medication or treatment, only administer medication within DET guidelines and only after permission from parents or guardians
- Manage the First Aid room in accordance with Department of Education and Early Childhood Development Policy and Guidelines
- Manage Staff Asthma online training and provide Anaphylaxis training
- Organising staff first aid training & CPR updates as advised by OHS officer
- Maintain student health support plans (i.e., Anaphylaxis, Asthma) and ensure that staff are kept up to date with this information
- Facilitate student vaccination/immunisation programs
- Organise staff immunisations
- Liaise with parents to ensure that student health information & medical plans are up to date, medication is supplied and within use by dates
- Preparing first aid kits for excursions
- Maintain adequate stocks of First Aid materials in the First Aid Rooms, including the preparation and restocking of portable First Aid kits
- Arrange for the laundering of linen and ensure proper standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the Health Centre following DET infection control guidelines
- Maintain (in conjunction with the College cleaners) the First Aid Centre in a clean, orderly and hygienic condition
- Perform general office duties when requested, by the Principal/Business Manager.
- Create and maintain accurate student records of Sick Bay attendance
