- The Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA) is leading the responsible management and safe storage and disposal of Australia’s radioactive waste. A key element of ARWA’s program is the delivery of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility which will provide a purpose-built, engineered solution to manage radioactive waste from sources such as nuclear medicine production.- We are seeking people who have the skills and experience to put Australia at the forefront of the global nuclear waste management field. The key duties of the position include:

- Supporting the development and implementation of international relations strategies and initiatives, aligned with ARWA’s strategic direction.
- Coordinating and managing practical assistance to ARWA senior leaders and staff traveling internationally, including managing logistics, security and undertaking risk assessments.
- Developing and coordinating international travel packs for ARWA staff to ensure they have the necessary information and resources.
- Developing and implementing effective communication plans and engagement activities to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proactively identifing key stakeholders in international radioactive waste industry and individual needs and develop appropriate engagement strategies to promote ARWA.
- Developing and maintaining effective compliance of programs and procedures, including training and awareness programs for employees.
- Conducting regular risk assessments of the ARWA's international engagements to develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies and improvement.
- Supporting the development and implementation of collaborative projects and initiatives, including research, development, and partnerships.- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication, and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working in the field of international relations, either through previous employment, internships, or volunteer work. This experience should highlight a solid understanding of global affairs, international diplomacy, and cross-cultural communication.
