The company’s operating structure comprises three regional business units focused on enabling and executing corporate strategy. Two functional divisions - Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids - are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy.

**About the role**

With a continuous improvement mindset, the role will drive improvements in E&A management system requirements and champion implementation of innovative business solutions to improve Santos’ overall E&A performance.

This role will suit someone with a keen attention to technical detail and with a strong background in auditing and compliance. The role requires someone the ability to identify non-conformances and drive delivery of improvement actions. At arm’s length to the business, the role requires someone with a previous background in assurance, incident investigation and compliance governance.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assurance
- Lead development and implementation of a multi-year E&A functional assurance program
- Provide company-wide oversight on E&A assurance outcomes and insights and communicate areas for improvement to functional and Divisional E&A leads
- Lead and participate in E&A audits and reviews
- Lead and participate in E&A incident investigations
- Compliance
- Lead E&A compliance governance
- Benchmark E&A compliance performance across industry to understand best practice
- Provide company-wide oversight on E&A compliance performance and communicate areas for improvement to functional and Divisional E&A leads
- Functional oversight administration of the compliance management database
- Governance and Reporting
- Is a key contributor to E&A corporate reporting to the Santos Board and Executive Committee
- Is a key contributor to E&A functional governance meetings
