The RAC Insurance Risk and Compliance Team is a Line 2 team who support the RAC Insurance business. We provide advice and guidance to facilitate informed risk-based decision making. This enables better business and member outcomes and protects our licence to operate.
The core accountabilities and activities include:
- Mapping of obligations, processes, and controls to proactively identify any control gaps or weaknesses
- Assist with the design of appropriate controls to minimise regulatory breaches
- Review and monitor overall adherence to RAC Insurance Compliance Management Framework
- Complete periodic assurance reviews and deep dives of key compliance procedures
- Complete periodic reviews of compliance training content based on incident data insights to continually uplift quality of training
- Complete periodic reviews of knowledge centre articles to ensure those related to our compliance obligations are accurate and aligned to training and quality assurance activities
- Identify and implement areas of improvement to ensure ongoing compliance with RAC Insurance obligations
- Provide advice to the business on remedial and rectification actions
- Provide compliance advice and guidance when the business is implementing process changes.
- Support the business with compliance by design utilising incident analytics and data to pinpoint priority areas for uplift and focus.
About you
- You will have a natural commitment to put our members at the centre of everything you do
- You have a curiosity to learn and understand how the business operates and experience in a risk role within the Insurance or Financial services industry is required
- You have an ability to work autonomously, manage a diverse workload and meet competing deadlines
- An analytical mind able to see complexities of procedures and regulations and present practical solutions
- Previous experience in compliance framework management, assessments, and reporting
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships and communicate clearly with senior internal stakeholders
- Strong conceptual, analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to consider the critical business needs
- Sound knowledge of regulatory issues affecting the insurance and financial services industry considered highly advantageous
- Sound knowledge of APRA standards and ASIC regulatory guides considered highly advantageous
