**Position Information**:
Five Dock Public School, with an enrolment of 394, is situated in Sydney’s Inner West and serves an engaged and aspirational community. The school has a preschool, and 4 support classes which cater to the needs of students with Autism and moderate intellectual disabilities.

The Executive team comprises the principal and 4 Assistant Principals, who lead and support a staff of diverse experience.

Staff practice is underpinned by engagement with data and research, and there is a shared understanding on the part of all staff that every child is an individual. The school acknowledges that its core purpose is to develop literate and numerate individuals who have sound interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. The school works to meet the needs of all students through flexible intervention strategies and differentiated learning. There is strong provision for students to explore their abilities through cocurricular activities through the study of languages, public speaking, music, and sport.

The school underwent External Validation in Term 2, 2023.

1. Excellence in leading teachers and executive in the implementation of reflective practices to embed high-impact pedagogy to foster and consolidate a dynamic learning environment

2. Demonstrated ability to initiate and model a high-quality educational vision that promotes a culture of success and achievement across a school and its community

3. Demonstrated expertise as an approachable, decisive, and visible leader with outstanding consultative and interpersonal skills to promote the school, and further develop partnerships with families and the wider community

4. Proven capacity to lead, develop, sustain, and monitor effective student and staff wellbeing and mentoring practices which cultivate inclusion, engagement, and respect

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
