**About us**

Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.

**About the role**

Key duties of the role include Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), duties to create engineering and survey base plans, assisting Council’s Engineering Surveyor with field work, and providing design drafting support to Designers.

**About you**

This role requires a reliable and enthusiastic person with the ability to carry out a variety of tasks to help ensure engineering surveys and design documentation are carried out and prepared efficiently, accurately and clearly presented.

Excellent listening and written and oral communication skills are required to ensure directions are understood, then carried out promptly and accurately. Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously are of great importance to undertake this role.

Proven experience using AutoCAD is essential and working knowledge of other CAD packages such as 12D, Civil3D and/or CivilCAD will also be advantageous.
