**Your new role**:
Knox City Council is currently recruiting for the Head of Cyber Security to join our Chief Information Office. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer the Head of Cyber Security will build and maintain the Knox City Council (KCC) Information Cyber Security Program with a primary focus on the IT Cyber Security infrastructure, platforms, controls, and policies. This includes responsibility for overseeing a range of technical and process security controls and leading a program of increased Cyber maturity, education, and continuous improvement in response to the changing Cyber security threat and risk landscape. The Head of Cyber Security will stay abreast of new Cyber Security technologies and capabilities and maintain a good network within the Cyber environment in both Government and Private Enterprise.

This is a 3 year fixed term contract opportunity. This role is classified as a Senior Executive Officer role, and remuneration will be in the rage of $150k to $170k depending on experience.

**What you will need to thrive**:
The key selection criteria for this role are:

- The ability to interpret Local, State and Federal statutes and commercial policies that affect the provisioning of services, data governance, procurement, and security, including Notifiable Data Breaches, PCI Data Security Standards, and other Industry Best Practices.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse existing and future systems across an organisation and review security architectures and develop solutions and policies that integrate information security requirements to proactively protect information.
- Experience in conducting Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) activities, including forensic analysis and review and assessment of security events and logs via sophisticated cyber security /event management tools
- Well-developed understanding and ability to articulate the impacts changes will have on the monitoring, maintenance, and operation of Cyber Security Systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of security standards and frame works ISO27001-2, NIST, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GPDR and MITRE ATT&CK
