**The Role**
As a HR & Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of fortnightly pays for our client’s valued employees. Your meticulous attention to detail and strong numerical skills will be put to good use as you handle a variety of payroll tasks, including calculating wages, processing employee deductions, and reconciling payroll reports.
But that's not all In addition to your payroll responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to assist with various HR administrative tasks. Your excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask will shine as you support the HR team with tasks such as maintaining employee records, preparing employment contracts, and assisting with recruitment processes.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Accurately process fortnightly pays, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies
- Calculate and process employee deductions, including tax, superannuation, and other applicable withholdings
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection
- Assist with HR administrative tasks, such as preparing employment contracts, updating employee information, and supporting recruitment processes
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to employee payroll and HR-related inquiries
**About You**
- Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and legislation
- Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A high level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Knowledge of HR administrative processes and regulations is desirable but not essential
