**About the role**

The Assistant Project Officer role will see you undertake a range of administrative and project support activities to contribute to the effective operation and delivery of department programs and projects. You will be heavily involved in working with schools and drive school engagement and support whilst also supporting workshops.

Main Duties will include;
- Providing project and operational support to assist the team complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
- Building effective working relationships and work collaboratively with staff across the department to drive project outcomes and respond to stakeholder enquiries in a timely manner
- Providing a range of secretariat and administrative services, including the coordination of workshops and management of project inboxes, to support project management delivery.
- Undertaking project and other work as directed to support delivery of projects and team objectives.

**Skills and Experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
- Exposure to structure project management methodologies within the public sector

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
