Transport Canberra Light Rail Operations is responsible for overseeing the successful operation of light rail by our contracted partner Canberra Metro and ensuring the responsibilities of both the Territory and Canberra Metro, under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement, are achieved. The key roles are contract management, contract assurance, asset assurance, performance planning and monitoring and operational and incident management.

The branch is seeking an Assistant Director, Asset and Interface Coordinator to join the team. The position is available to start immediately until 12 March 2023. Further details are in the attached Position Description.

The primary responsibilities are:

- Prepare executive and ministerial briefs, advisory notes, presentations, correspondences, reports and contractual notifications and letters.
- Review and analyse information from Canberra Metro’s asset information management system and other data sources, and produce analysis including graphical trends to support decision making in a clear, concise and easy to understand format.
- Ensure obligations under the Road Rail Interface Agreement and TCCS Operating Protocol are effectively met and these documents are regularly reviewed and maintained with endorsement from all relevant parties.
- Undertake asset inspections and liaise with City Services asset owners and planning teams on issues relating to light rail and its interfaces in accordance with the Project Agreement.
- Work with Canberra Metro to maintain TCCS permits to work and access agreements for the operating phase area, as well as ensuring these and supporting processes developed by TCCS stakeholders comply with TCCS WHS requirements (including developing and reviewing risk assessments) for undertaking work safely in a rail environment.
- Work closely with the TCCS Safety and Wellbeing Branch and Branch WHS officers in ensuring compliance and education of WHS obligations in accessing the Light Rail Operating Area by TCCS staff and subcontractors. This includes developing and maintaining the internal WHS light rail training register and training materials.
