Catherine’s House is Australia’s first integrated centre for perinatal mental health care and provides mental health treatment and support to new parents.

With one in five mums and up to one in ten fathers experiencing depression, anxiety and other mental health issues before or after the birth of a child, this new facility will triple the number of public beds in Queensland from 4 to 12 for families in need of perinatal mental health support.

Mater is looking for an **Infant Mental Health Worker **to join **Catherine’s House**. This **0.8 FTE** position is based at our South Brisbane campus and is a 15 month maximum term contract.

**About the role**

The **Infant Mental Health Worker **will be part of the Parent Aide Unit at Catherine’s House for Mothers Babies and Families, which is an integrated centre for infant and perinatal mental health based at Mater South Brisbane.

**Salary range: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and salary packaging**

**What you’ll be doing**
- Deliver high quality early intervention and prevention clinical services to infants, children, and their families, who are identified as requiring support and who would benefit from parent aide interventions.
- Work with a senior clinician on the recruitment, training, professional development and supervision of Parent Aide volunteers.
- Actively participate in the team and work co-operatively with families, volunteers and the broader service.
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge and skills in engaging and working with volunteers, babies, children and families.
- Demonstrated ability to provide timely high-quality psychosocial assessments, formulation and intervention planning, in partnership with volunteers and families.
- Ability to identify risk and respond in a timely way to ensure safety of all involved.
- Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active leaning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities

**About you**

Nursing:

- General Registration via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Mental Health Accreditation
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to professional development and quality improvement and /or clinical research

Psychology:

- Mandatory-_
- General Registration via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Psychology Board of Australia Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Educational and Developmental Psychology
- Eligibility for accreditation or current Board approved Supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia

Social Work:

- A degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Tertiary qualifications for Social Work from overseas institutions require the applicant to include official notification from AASW that the qualification has been assessed as eligible for membership
