**Your opportunity**:
The Safety Officer, reporting to the Operations Manager, plays a pivotal role in enhancing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance across the organization.

This position involves providing guidance, ensuring compliance with policies and laws, and fostering a culture of safety. You will be both, office-based and field-oriented, overseeing safe work processes, incident management, and compliance with ISO certifications.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Lead safety initiatives and coach HSE managers
- Act as a business partner for HSE risk management and provide transparent HSE metric reporting
- Ensure effective incident and emergency response
- Foster a culture of safety, respect, and accountability
- Contribute to Frontline leadership development and embed incident investigation and risk assessments
- Maintain ISO certifications, monitor HSE legislation, and coordinate safety audits and training programs
- Investigate incidents, oversee corrective actions, and conduct internal EHS audits
- Develop and manage annual training programs, ensuring compliance with HR policies and WHS requirements
- Proactively manage workplace incidents and contribute to long-term risk strategy

**Your skills and qualifications**
- Tertiary HR/OHS qualifications - preferred
- Experience in OHS Management or facilities management preferred
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail and adaptability
- Friendly attitude, strong relationship-building skills
- Strategic, analytical, innovative, and creative thinker
- Ability to work with external Work Cover service provider
- Regularly review employment and working conditions for legal compliance with Fair Work Australia, NES, and Industry Awards
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety Legislation
