In this role, you will play a vital part in the daily operations of both the Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory and the Metabolic Laboratory within our Biochemical Genetics Division.

**Your responsibilities include**:
**As a Laboratory Technician, your contributions will include**:
**Sample Management**: Expertly handle sample receipt, processing, and analysis, ensuring the utmost precision and accuracy in every step.
**Quality Assurance**: Contribute to the organization of quality management activities, including internal quality control and external quality assurance, to maintain the highest standards of testing.
**Team Collaboration**: Work closely with a dedicated team of professionals, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
**Continuous Learning**: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field and embrace opportunities for professional growth.

**What we need from you**:
Diploma in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience in high volume dried blood spot processing in an ISO15189 NATA accredited laboratory
Demonstrated experience in running, maintaining and troubleshooting automated newborn screening equipment including the Revvity Panthera and GSSP.
Demonstrated experience in sample preparation, running and maintaining mass spectrometry equipment
Demonstrated experience in manual and automated processing of PCR assays
Understanding of specimen reception and patient information
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Effective organisational and time-management skills
A passion for advancing healthcare through biochemical genetic testing
