**About the organisation**

Singleton Council are a dynamic, multi-skilled, diverse group of people who share the same passion — to deliver outstanding services and outcomes for the community. The Singleton Arts + Cultural Centre (SACC) was established in response to community request and construction was completed in 2021. The $4.08 million project was funded by a $2.787million NSW Government grant from Create NSW with the remainder provided by Singleton Council. SACC is a community-based and non-profit public gallery, which offers more than 300m2 of exhibition space and two studio workshops.
- The Centre’s innovative annual program provides engaging exhibitions of contemporary art by local, regional, national, and international artists, also hosting a range of related public events, lectures, activities and workshops for all ages.**The Opportunity**
- The role will be critical to establishing quality digital archiving procedures with a view to extending and maintaining the collection. Additional tasks will include managing the valuation and insurance of artworks, handling new acquisitions, maintaining the collection, creating photographic records, and supporting with the Centre’s schedule of exhibition installations. The position will involve working with the Coordinator Arts and Culture, SACC staff, volunteers, artists, the local community, Council staff and key stakeholders to ensure professional collection management.
- The role is funded for 22.5 hours per week for 18 months, engaged on a casual on hire basis through peoplefusion, however there would be flexibility for someone who may wish to work more hours over a shorter term.**About You**

Ideally you will bring:
Previous experience working within an arts and cultural discipline, preferably in an art gallery or museum

Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and spoken communication skills and the confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels

Demonstrated experience in the display, handling, documentation and management of artworks and art collections

The ability to multitask and work with competing deadlines

Experience in digital record keeping and reporting.
