**Role**

Kaplan Higher Education is looking for an Academic Manager for the Foundation and ELICOS programs delivered at the University of Adelaide College’s (UoAC) two campuses in Adelaide and Melbourne. The role will work closely with the UoAC campus staff to provide quality academic and student support. In this role you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day academic operations and academic administration of the campus for the Foundation Studies and ELICOS programs.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership to the Foundation Studies and ELICOS programs to achieve optimum academic outcomes
- Provide leadership to academic staff thereby ensuring that the curriculum is up-to-date and teaching practices optimise student achievement, inclusive of reporting on programs to the Joint Academic Board
- Work collaboratively with the National Campus Director to provide regular and accurate reporting of academic outcomes to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with the ESOS Act, the Foundation Program Standards 2021, the ELICOS Standards 2018, and Kaplan’s and the University’s policies Work collaboratively with the Student Services team on student academic outcomes and interventions, examinations and assessment, and student events, including Orientations and Graduations, and supporting a focus on customer service for all student related functions
- Oversee the relief teaching process, in collaboration with Course Coordinators and in line with the Enterprise Agreement, to ensure consistency of teaching delivery
- Lead and oversee the academic programs so that high levels of academic rigor are established and maintained
- In cooperation with Course Coordinators, facilitate the efficient and effective operation of moderation processes
- Support the National Campus Director in identifying and implementing growth strategies
- Work collaboratively with the National Campus Director in the development of a business leadership culture at the University of Adelaide College and identification with Kaplan Australia goals and vision

**Requirements**:

- A minimum 5 years managing and/or teaching experience to students from non-English speaking backgrounds (essential)
- Experience in managing Foundation and ELICOS programs (essential)
- TESOL qualification at postgraduate diploma level or above (MA TESOL/Applied Linguistics, DELTA)
- Ability to identify and implement business opportunities
- Skills in developing strategic working relationships
- Ability to develop others and form effective, self-managing teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills
- An understanding of effective leadership approaches with academic staff
- Knowledge of effective quality assurance processes, particularly within an educational context
- Experience in leading staff and managing change
