**You will have the following responsibilities**:
Reporting through to the EGM - Operations, you will strategically evaluate current business activities, whilst identifying areas of innovation directly related to the infrastructure network to develop new pathways in the area of recycling.

Your role will encompass 6 depots across the ACT and will be responsible for leading critical business actions whilst achieving sustainable growth and profitability.

**Comprised in the role**:

- Be the key management representative across the ACT region.
- Managing critical relationships & contracts involving government and all other critical stakeholders; maintain relationships with government and business community.
- Promote and secure ongoing contracts and future tenders, both private and public sectors.
- Assist and contribute to the business strategy for ACT, including the objectives of sustainability and growth.
- Effectively manage assets and infrastructure - landfills and transfer stations.
- Provide accurate reporting and required analysis to the ACT government as per contractual commitments.
- Involvement in the tendering process and development of the organics capabilities within the ACT region.
- Be the representative, integrator and connector when liaising with ACT Government, EPA, industry associations, competitors, the business community, and other critical external stakeholders.
- Further develop the business by improving efficiencies and productivity, particularly in collections and logistics.
- Be responsible for financial and commercial performance of the business.
- Develop, present and manage budgets and costs for all business units
- Lead the team effectively by ensuring all key business performance indicators are met across safety, productivity, profitability, cost management, cash flow, compliance.
- Be an approachable and positive leader, coaching and supporting the team across all facilities/business interactions.
- Build upon an empowering, supportive and engaging culture to enable business units to deliver strong and sustainable business results.
- Promote a positive HSEQ culture through positive communication and demonstrated behaviours.

**Who you are**:

- You have a Tertiary qualification in business, sales, engineering, or environment.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a industrial organisation, such as waste, energy, logistics or manufacturing.
- Previous experience across business development & transformation.
- Motivated in aligning business across people, environmental compliance, safety, and P&L.
- Experience with regulatory and quality compliance.
- Strong analytical, numerical and communication skills.
- Possesses qualities that are influential and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of business acumen and experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong exposure of the recycling industry.
- Exposure working with local councils and government desirable.
- You will be highly motivated and have a positive attitude.
