**About Us**:
An exciting new role exists at the Racing Integrity Comissioners office.
The Racing Integrity Commissioner is an independent statutory officer under Part IA of the Racing Act 1958 (Vic). The Commissioner is an integrity oversight body for the Victorian racing industry, providing assurance about the three racing controlling bodies' integrity systems and processes.
The Commissioner receives funding and corporate support from the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). The Complaints Assessment Officer / Team Coordinator is an employee of DJCS and works in a small team environment to support the Commissioner's performance of statutory functions, including the conduct of annual audits and investigation of complaints.
**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Director of Integrity Policy, Assurnce and Legal, the role of a Complaints and Operations Manager will:

- Assess complaints in line with relevant legislation and policy, communicate with complainants to obtain information and explain processes and decisions, draft outcome letters, comply with record-keeping requirements.
- Provide strategic and expert written advice and make recommendations on complex, sensitive and confidential matters relating to the Racing Integrity Commissioner's performance of statutory audit, investigation, and inquiry functions.
- Provide high level executive and administrative support to the Commissioner and staff to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the office.
- Demonstrate high level organisation and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, diplomacy, discretion, and the capacity to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a highly sensitive work environment.

Extensive experience within a government or regulatory environment:

- undertaking sensitive investigations relating to participant protection, child safeguarding, or sexual assault and harassment;
- conducting compliance audits;
- using contemporary data analysis, statistical and intelligence techniques and software; and
- providing authoritative, operational advice about complaint handling and the conduct of audits, investigations and inquiries; and

**Qualifications**:

- A Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or at least 5 years equivalent experience conducting complex and sensitive investigations relating to participant protection, child safeguarding, or sexual assault and harassment in a law enforcement or regulatory/integrity environment (mandatory).
- Demonstrated experience in conducting compliance audits in a regulatory/integrity environment (desirable). Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (desirable).
