We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Structural Optimisation to join School of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Academic Division.

**About the area**
School of Mathematical Sciences sits within the Faculty of Science, Academic Division and is responsible for The School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) is a vibrant, multidisciplinary school with extensive teaching and research programs covering the fields of statistics, operations research and applied and computational mathematics.
Over the past five years staff of the school have held ten prestigious Australian Research Council fellowships including a Laureate fellowship, four ARC Discovery Early Career fellowships and five Future fellowships. Three of our professors are recognised among Australia's seven most highly cited researchers in mathematics, and QUT’s Centre for Data Science is led by a Fellow of both the Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Academy of Social Sciences..
**What you need to succeed**
- Demonstrated experience in computational mechanics, structural optimisation or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated scientific programming skills including experience using high performance computing facilities.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, including effectively presenting to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to connect and collaborate with colleagues in a team environment, internal and external stakeholders, and the wider research community.
- Demonstrated experience working in multidisciplinary research teams that combine computational and experimental research is not essential, but would be advantageous.
