We are in the market for an experienced and qualified Tree Asset Officer, who is passionate about their profession and enjoys the rewards of a good challenge.
As the Tree Asset Officer, your main objective will be to coordinate the delivery of the Council’s tree propagation, planting, establishment, and maintenance program that supports the delivery of the Greening Mandurah Strategy, as well as undertaking the ongoing management and maintenance of the City’s tree assets, including conducting professional assessments and providing technical advice and support across operations.

**What can you bring to the team?**
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Arboriculture or higher or demonstrated equivalent.
- Qualified in Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA).
- Current “C” class drivers’ licence.
- Current “HR” class drivers’ licence (desirable).
- Chainsaw ticket.
- Construction S A T card.
- Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).
- Traffic Management certificate (desirable).
**Experience**:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in industry-approved tree surgery principles and practices.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project supervision and contract management of arboriculture works or equivalent within the public realm.
- Understanding of current arboriculture tree climbing techniques and advanced rigging techniques.
- Demonstrated understanding of tree species and function with parks, streetscapes, and other public places.
- Understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of Council policies, procedures, and the local area.
- Ability to promote and maintain a safe work environment.
Your skillset will consist of:
- Time management skills.
- Sound ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Customer service and interpersonal skills, and basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound level of keyboard and computer literacy skills.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Understanding occupational health and safety principles, and practices.
**The finer details**
This permanent full-time OSE Level 6 position attracts a competitive salary range of $76,618 - $79,482 dependent on qualifications and experience. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce. As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to participate in a full pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.
