**What You Will Be Doing**

Are you passionate about using quality and safety systems to drive improvements and making healthcare safer for patients? Come and join our stellar Safer Care Unit team as one of our dynamic Safer Care Consultants You will be an integral member of our amazing Safer Care team, working alongside the Surgical services team. You will support clinical staff to provide better care for patients through enabling a consistent approach to clinical governance, quality of care and improvement.
The key areas of the role include:

- Encouraging a safety culture in the surgical services
- Supporting clinical governance systems eg clinical governance structures, patient safety management, policies and procedures, risk management and clinical audit
- Encouraging consumer engagement and participation
- Supporting organisation wide National Standards
- Ensuring continuous readiness for accreditation programs

**What You Need**

We anticipate you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in a healthcare discipline
- Recent clinical experience in acute health setting
- Experience in the development and implementation if patient safety and improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to manage a range of complex tasks within timeframes
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly excel

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
