**Associate Director** **of** **Nursing**

This role will report to the Director of Nursing. The ADON will provide clinical, and operational leadership to the wards and Patient Flow team to ensure delivery of exceptional patient-centred care within agreed metrics and standards.

- Mount Hospital is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Nursing with excellent interpersonal skills to contribute to coordinate the delivery of quality patient care and services, assist the organisation in meeting it’s strategic and operational objectives and provide governance to managerial process for reporting Managers._

**Responsibilities**:

- _Grow and lead the team in providing, safe, informed, adaptive and values-led care to patients, families, and Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs)._
- _Ensure the promotion of an effective, safe, skilled, and cooperative multi-disciplinary team environment._
- _Be an influential role model for exemplary customer service and embed processes to improve service to patients and provide professional clinical leadership Ensure direct reports practice according to their relevant standards, codes, and legislation, upholding a patient centred approach. _
- _Lead the teams to a culture of engagement through prioritising the patient and employee experience._
- _Promote an environment of safety, openness and learning through engaging with and embedding Healthscope standards, policies, and processes._
- _Provide governance and leadership to developing a consistent experience for patient flow through a complex, high acuity hospital._
- _Undertake a review of rostering practices to ensure an efficient service for employees and to the patient flow._
- _Have a significant level of nursing skill and proven commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice_
- _Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development_
- _Lead the nursing and allied health team to a culture of customer service to VMOs, patients and their families._
- _Provide a consistent experience to VMOs of proactive care that aligns to Healthscope’s standards and practices._

**Criteria**:

- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Registered with AHPRA (Nursing)
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in an acute hospital setting
- Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus
- Financial and human resource management skills
- Strong motivation and proven ability to manage change
- Proven ability to influence nursing and hospital practice in achieving excellent clinical outcomes

**Desirable**:

- Post Graduate qualifications in Business, Nursing or other relevant to the position.
- Involvement with Private Licensing requirements and practice for private hospitals
- Accreditation involvement under ACHS
