- This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for someone analytical, with a great eye for details and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Beyond purchasing and overseeing the movement of goods and supplies, you must have an interest to analyse usage trends, review stock level limits and reconcile differences in inventory audits between system and physical count. Working across job functions, there are regular interactions with the operations team in Sydney and the wider team in Melbourne and USA. You possess excellent communication skills, a ’can-do’ attitude and an upbeat personality.- This is a pivotal role that supports the needs of our business operations and contributes to optimal use of financial resources. It sits within the close-knit finance team; reporting directly into the Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and coordinate the end-to-end purchasing function, including raising Purchase Orders (PO) in a timely manner and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled
- Liaise with freight forwarding and transport companies, coordinate to ensure stock and supplies are delivered to the correct location in a timely manner
- Maintain receipts of goods in General Ledger and warehouse management systems
- Establish professional relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients such as vendors and suppliers
- Analyse trends and historical data to model and provide an accurate forecast for inventory, considering purchasing volume, production volume consumption and other shrinkage loss
- Evaluate inventory management processes for improved performance
- Uphold accuracy of inventory in system, including inventory decrementing and stock adjustment
- Participate in cyclic and year-end stocktake to ensure inventory levels are accurate, including investigating and reconciling variances between physical count and data in system on a monthly basis
- Prepare and compile weekly, monthly, quarterly procurement and inventory reports as required for financial decisions at a macro level
- Create and follow up on new vendor record and deposit payment request

About You
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in manufacturing, retail, FCMG or logistics industry
- Finance background or possess an intermediate understanding of accounting and auditing principles
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory controls, warehousing concepts and receiving and invoicing processes
- Outstanding communicator and excellent stakeholder management skills
- Process-orientated, able to work within and across teams for efficiencies
- Strong commercial acumen and a willingness to learn and understand the industry
- Proactive critical thinking for problem solving
