The Salvation Army Aged Care (TSAAC) currently operates 2000 residential care places across 21 residential aged care facilities, seven retirement villages and a broad range of Community Care Programs, employing over 2000 workers. ABOUT THE ROLE
As Manager, Learning and Capability, your role is to strategise, develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of a comprehensive learning and development framework aimed at enhancing the skills, capabilities, and compliance standards within The Salvation Army Aged Care (TSAAC). You will report to and be supported by Senior Manager Human Resources.
In this autonomous role, you will be able to spread your wings in a true L&D function to
- Develop, execute, and maintain a TSAAC-wide learning and capability framework, collaborating with the TSA Learning and Development team and utilizing Eva Burrows College courses (an internal Salvos RTO).
- Engage with TSAAC departments to conduct training needs assessments, identifying learning needs based on organizational, occupational, and individual assessments.
- Create initiatives to develop current leaders and prepare future leaders within the organization.
- Establish pathways for emerging talent, ensuring a well-trained pipeline of leaders.
- Design, implement, and manage training programs for managerial staff, utilizing contemporary learning and delivery styles and leveraging TSA L&D team frameworks.
- Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Educators to ensure a cohesive approach to TSAAC-wide learning.
- Set up and track KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of all training programs.
- Provide regular reporting on training and development metrics to senior management, including compliance rates, training ROI, and future needs.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports outlining learning and development outcomes, budget utilization, and recommendations for improvements.
- Select and oversee external vendors and educational partnerships to align student placements with TSAAC objectives and uphold standards and values.
- Streamline student placements across TSAAC, designing mechanisms for consistent feedback to foster improvement in the student placement process.
- Ensure student placements comply with industry regulations, with a focus on record-keeping and reporting.
- Enhance collaboration between Learning and Capability and Talent Acquisition teams, aligning the student management process with organizational workforce goals.
- Manage the learning and development budget.
ABOUT YOU
You are tertiary qualified in Human Resources, Business Administration or like field and can demonstrate at least 5 years of experience in Learning & Development at a leadership level. Additionally, you will posess:
- Experience in the aged care industry (or healthcare sector) is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
