Secretary/research Assistant

Temporary Full-time (35 hours per week) for up to 6 months, with the view to ongoing employment. Part-time and job share arrangements will be considered.
- $90,139 - $101,947 per annum (depending on skills, qualifications and experience), including an all incidence of allowance of $9,411 pa, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Based in Parliament of NSW, Sydney CBD

**About the role**

Applications are invited for a Policy, Parliamentary and Media Advisor in the Office of Jeremy Buckingham, MLC.

This position will be primarily focussed on Parliamentary Business. Including research, writing speeches, briefs and identifying amendments to relevant government and private members legislation and motions. It will also include media and communications, drafting media releases and producing and managing content on social media.

**KEY CRITERIA**
- High level public policy development and assessment skills and experience in Parliamentary procedure.
- Liaise with the ministerial offices, government departments, opposition and crossbench MPs on legislative, policy and procedural matters
- Assess and prepare briefs for the MLC on legislation and Parliamentary business
- Stakeholder engagement with constituents, government agencies, NGOs.
- Experience in drug harm reduction policy and/or other social policy development
- Experience in website and social media content management
