**About the Role**

Be part of a forward-thinking, innovative team and thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment in the Strategy and Performance directorate in SIRA’s Office of the Chief Executive.

The Strategy and Performance directorate supports SIRA to carry out its core regulatory functions by providing a diverse range of critical enabling services such as audit, risk, compliance, ministerial and parliamentary, privacy, information access and management, workforce capability, strategy and corporate reporting services.

This role is a Sydney-based role with a requirement to occasionally travel to the Government Records Repository located in Kingswood NSW.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work dynamically across other streams within the Strategy and Performance directorate to support delivery of core business functions where needed.

**In this role you will**:

- Support the Senior Advisor, Information Services, in the SIRA Records and Information Management program's ongoing development, maintenance, growth and maturity.
- Assist with sentencing and implementing records retention, disposal, and destruction or transfer of records (physical and e-records) under the _State Records Act 1998._
- _ _Help draft SIRA-specific retention and disposal authorities and the development of standards and procedures to support SIRA’s record-keeping and information management.
- Review the physical records held by SIRA at the Government Records Repository.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A can-do attitude with attention to detail and proven experience in getting things done.
- Knowledge and understanding of records and information management legislation and an ability to interpret regulations and legislation.
- Excellent problem solving, research and analytical skills and the ability to make appropriate recommendations.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level reports and presentations.
- Experience in government records management or information services or a similar role is preferred, as is working knowledge and experience with records management tools, with exposure to TRIM and Microsoft 365 highly desirable.
