**About the Role**

As the Associate Director you will be responsible for supporting the execution of the Communications plan, consistent with NAB’s Corporate Affairs strategy, Strategic ambition and C&IB strategy, with a particular focus on implementing, and advising on integrated communications activities, building trust, and driving change for the benefit of customers, communities, employees and NAB.

**What you'll be doing**
- Support the planning, advice and execution of activities aligned to the Communications plan. Key responsibilities are developing and executing proactive external (media) leadership communications and engagement plans and messaging tailored to relevant audiences, managing reactive media queries, issues management and engagement activity, speech writing, and providing general communications support and advice to key stakeholders.
- Support issues management, including regularly looking for ways to build trust in NAB, aligned with NAB’s strategic ambition and why we are here.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues across Corporate Affairs, Economics and the broader business to ensure consistent alignment of NAB’s messaging and communications activity.
- Bring the outside in, by helping to drive business decisions that will build trust and drive change for the benefit of customers, communities and NAB, and by pursuing new, innovative, creative and effective communications approaches.
- Proactively manage risk; meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified (risk accountability forms part of all roles, as everyone is responsible for managing risk and compliance). Ensure all communications content and materials are delivered in line with these requirements.
- Lead plan and execute external campaigns that demonstrate delivery of NAB’s strategic ambition.
- Innovative communications and story-telling that are delivered in the appropriate style of language and channel for the target audiences.
- Risk management, including identification, mitigation and management of issues with a focus on building trust in NAB.
- Positively contributing to NAB’s culture. As a senior member of the Communications team, taking the time to reflect on self and actively explore development opportunities.

**What you'll bring**
- 10 years’ experience in Communications/Public Relations/Corporate Affairs with accountabilities for managing leadership engagement, media relations and speech writing.
- Demonstrate experience as a trusted advisor who influences outcomes with senior executives/stakeholders and/or mitigates issues to achieve communications objectives.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple issues and stakeholders, while working in a dynamic, cross functional and collaborative team environment to achieve Communications outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications or related field preferred.
