We are a seeking a Specialist Development Program Practitioner. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday with flexible working hours between 8am - 5pm. The position is on fixed term basis until 30 April 2024. The role will be based across Perth Metropolitan area.

We are seeking an individual with experience working with youth and their families along with program design and implementation.

The Specialist Development Program Practitioner is responsible for designing a trauma-informed respectful relationships education program for children and young people accessing family and domestic violence support services.

The development of the education program is conducted using a participatory action research method to co-design and pilot the new program with young people and parents. The purpose of this role is to develop a program to support primary prevention, by directly addressing underlying beliefs and values that perpetuate gender inequality and excuse or condone gendered violence. The program will be designed with the principles of being age appropriate, culturally safe, and sensitive to parental attachment.

The Specialist Development Program Practitioner works directly with children and young people experiencing family and domestic violence, to develop a new bespoke program that builds Western Australia’s primary prevention capability for this cohort, and work towards ending gender-driven violence.

As well as experience working with youth and program design, we will be looking for:

- Essential _
- Demonstrated experience of successfully developing, implementing and monitoring service programs.
- Developed understanding and knowledge of the impact of family and domestic violence on children and young people, and of primary prevention and early intervention responses.
- Excellent interpersonal, engagement and relationship building skills with demonstrated ability to establish confident relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification supplemented by recent and relevant experience in program development, and assessment of impact using quantitative and qualitative methods.
