**Duties & Responsibilities**:
Responsible for the development and maintenance of all internal audit and risk management frameworks as well as overseeing all audit activity - both internal and external, risk management activity, and compliance activity (regulatory and contractually). This role will be focused on:

- Develop annually a risk-based internal audit plan for the Board to review and approval. Oversee the implementation of the approved plan, ensure proper resourcing for implementation of the plan, and adjust the plan as needed in response to changes in the business risks, operations, programs, systems and controls. Keep senior management and the Board apprised of any changes needed to the internal audit plan
- Direct the work of external auditors or select audits, as directed by the Board and senior management, to ensure the audit work remains within the prescribed guidelines
- Perform organization-wide risk assessments to identify significant risks or exposure related to internal controls or compliance with our policies and procedures, laws and regulations and other regulatory requirements, efficiency of operations, and accuracy of programmatic and financial reporting. Provide feedback and recommendations on business risks and improving operational efficiencies and processes where appropriate
- Lead risk assessments and integration activities for projects, ensuring that business activities remain within the defined risk appetite
- Monitor and report on any breaches, incidents or issues that may arise during the audit or risk assessment
- Assist in the design and implementation of controls for any gaps identified
- Conduct reviews of relevant legislation with the business to ensure regulatory requirements are considered and met
- Evaluate the need for specialised audits, such as ESG and Environmental
- Build strong working relationships as a key liaison with external auditors, senior leadership team and risk governing bodies

**Qualifications & Experience**
- 15+ years combined experience in a relevant audit/assurance, risk management, or advisory capacity;
- Possesses a professional accountant certification;
- MBA degree or a master degree in relevant discipline from top university;
- Work experience in top tier accounting firm;
- Experience in internal audit and internal control function;
- Experience in risk management and compliance frameworks and operating models;
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic environment which will include overtime and travelling;
- Experience in the green energy sector (solar industry is a plus) or relevant environmental centric organisation(s);
- Experience in ESG reporting (or equivalent) and/or audit; and
- Experience in stakeholder and investor communications is a plus.

**Salary**: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
