**The role**:
A great opportunity for a **Junior Contract Manager** to join our Above Water Systems (AWS) team at Garden Island, Sydney. The Junior Contract Manager will support the business in managing the contractual relationship between Thales and its customers, partners and subcontractors/suppliers. Your responsibility will be to minimise the contractual and financial risks associated with contract performance by seeking commercial opportunities during the project phase, and ensure Contract Management functions are met.

Responsibilities will include:

- Supporting relevant Managers in protecting Thales’ commercial position throughout the contract life, ensuring contractual obligations are complied with, and identifying and notifying the relevant Program Manager and Director of Legal & Contracts of any potential breaches and disputes related matters.
- Drafting low-risk content and project commercial deliverables.
- Manage contract change process and participate in negotiation activities.
- Monitoring and reporting on financial performance through ongoing contractual and financial reviews.
- Annual Financial Reconciliation.
- Preparation of all Survey & Quote work, ensuring scope and cost are adequate and in line with contractual requirements.
- Working with Project Teams, providing oversight for all task costings, ensuring that costs are submitted in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Working with the team in the development and approval of annual costings.
- For ensuring all invoicing occurs as per contract requirements, i.e. Budget v Actual is an accurate reflection of the financial position of each task.
- Proactively managing contractual risks, opportunities and efficiencies.
- Providing support for both internal and external Financial and Contract Status Reviews (CSRs).

**How about you?**
- Qualification or training in areas of Business, Finance/Accounting, Law, Project Management, Commercial Management or Engineering is desirable.
- Sound business, commercial and regulatory knowledge and experience.
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate in a positive manner with external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in contracts and business development, including the costing and preparation of tender proposals.
- Experience in contract management, legal, commercial, or project management.
- ASDEFCON contracting suite.
- Performance/relational based contracting.
