Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

**What you’ll be doing**

This is a new role developed to provide guidance and support to the carer peer workforce in the Adult Community & Older Adult Mental Health Service. Additionally, the position will also work in partnership with the multidisciplinary treating teams of the Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Service to ensure the unique needs of families and carers are understood and supported.

In this role, you will support the carer peer workforce and relevant team leaders and service managers in integrating peer service delivery. Ensuring collaboration with clinical leads will support carer peer workers to confidently work within the clinical program to ensure the voice of families, carers and supporters is considered and informs individual engagements with consumers.

**About you**
- Lived/ living experience of supporting someone experiencing mental health challenges
- At least 2 years direct work experience working within mental health with a carer peer workforce
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, Intentional Peer Support Training, or other peer workforce experience (Desirable)
- Australian working rights
- Full Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination
- Be willing to undergo a Background Check
