What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Protection Operations Analyst within Specialist Protective Command (SPC).

Protection Operations Analyst plan, collect and analyse information to produce high-level operational and strategic protective assessments which influence organisational decision-making at all levels on Commonwealth protected interests.

As a Team Member you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

**As a Protection Operations Analyst you will**:
Use your protective security knowledge to produce high-level operations and strategic protective security assessments;
Proactively plan, collect, collate and analyse information to influence SPC decision makers, including informing the allocation of Protection Operations resources;
Provide input and advice to drive broader AFP intelligence collection requirements to support corporate objectives;
Provide high-level written and verbal protective security advice and briefing to a range of stakeholders;
Provide guidance to team member in a mentor capacity; and
Maintain currency in protective security concepts and methods through ongoing professional development and learning.
Essential Requirements

To be eligible you must be an Australian Citizen;
A Top Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one;
Experience in protective security methodology, including a strong comprehension of threat and risk concepts to deliver timely, robust and considered protective security assessments;
Ability to assess security risk information in a fast paced, complex and dynamic environment;
A proven ability to communicate effectively and with influence, both written and verbal;
A proven ability to manage and critically assess large volume of data;
Advanced research and analytical skills;
Resilience and the ability to adapt to change; and
A demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.

In this role you will be required to demonstrate flexibility and to work the hours and patterns of attendance as directed by your Supervisor on a 24 hour, seven day a week basis (including designated public holidays).

Desirable Requirements
