About the Role

The Australian Federal Police is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Protection Operations Assessment Officer to join our Specialist Protective Command team.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid command that combines specialized and operational capabilities, with a focus on establishing national strategy, governance, and capabilities while delivering operational outputs in the Australian Capital Territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, collate, analyze, and disseminate assessments to support the Specialist Protective Command team.
  • Conduct threat and risk assessments to inform the allocation of protection resources.
  • Develop and maintain operational information systems to support the team's work.
  • Provide security risk assessments for planned special events.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve outcomes and make sound decisions.
Requirements
  • Australian citizenship.
  • Negative Vetting 2 security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of threat and risk assessment concepts and methods.
  • Understanding of protective security principles and Australian government security policies.
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interrogate and manipulate information systems.
