**About the role**:
We have numerous AIN opportunities available starting in February 2025, offering you a chance to join our team and make a meaningful impact from the outset of the new year.
Based in the Operating Suite at John Hunter Hospital, a state-of-the-art 16-room unit that operates across two sites within the same building. This cutting-edge facility ensures streamlined operations and efficient patient care, offering a dynamic and well-coordinated environment for surgical procedures.
In this role be responsible for packing away instrumentation returned from the sterilising department to the central stock area, ensuring all items are correctly stored and easily accessible.
You will also be responsible for packing away various consumable items as they are depleted, ensuring the environment remains organised and well-stocked.
Organising and attending to operation setups for both emergency and elective cases throughout the day, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are in place for smooth and efficient procedures.
As needed you will source and supply equipment for various operating rooms on a PRN (as-needed) basis, coordinating with the team to ensure that all surgical lists are fully supported.
Providing "outside runner support" for infectious cases involves efficiently delivering sterile supplies and equipment to the operating room while adhering to infection control protocols to ensure a safe and effective surgical environment.

- John Hunter Hospital is located within the Hunter New England Local Health District and is nestled between multiple beautiful beaches and the magnificent Hunter Valley vineyards which are just an hour’s drive away. The hospital has direct access to public transport and is close to numerous public schools and several major shopping centres.
- The NSW Government has committed $835 million to redevelop the John Hunter and John Hunter Children's Hospital. The John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct project will deliver an innovative and integrated precinct with industry-leading facilities. The project will work in collaboration with health, education, and research partners to meet the current and future needs of the greater Newcastle, Hunter New England, and Northern NSW regions.

**About you**:
- You are a motivated and enthusiastic Undergraduate with a desire to integrate within an acute care environment.
- You will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills to proactively engage with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent care and surgical outcomes for our patients.
