**About the Role**:
This is a Part time (0.5EFT), Fixed term position within the Nutrition and Food Services Department at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne.
The RCH Weight Management Service provides tertiary, multidisciplinary care for children and young people referred with complex obesity. The service provides multidisciplinary assessment and management. It encompasses the medical specialties of Neurodevelopmental Medicine, General Paediatrics and Endocrinology. Allied health disciplines include Psychology, Dietetics and Social Work. The primary responsibility of this position is provision of specialist high quality nutritional care to paediatric patients and their families as a member of the multidisciplinary Weight Management Service. In addition to patient care, the role includes service coordination responsibilities. There may be opportunities to assist with the provision of student supervision and education healthcare professionals, as well as quality and research activities.
**What You’ll Achieve**:
- Work as a valued member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide support to clinical supervisors and students and ensure patient care is integrated and effective
- Provide nutritional care to paediatric patients (inpatients and outpatients) and nutritional support across a variety of specialist/medical units
- Build and maintain authentic relationships with key stakeholders, including food service/formula room staff, medical and nursing, and external agencies
Classification for this position with range from AK1-AK4, Grade 3 Year 1 to Grade 3 Year 4 (FTE base salary $102,258 to $119,095 per annum, plus superannuationn).
**Your Skills and Experience**:
- Eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia (DA)
- Eligibility for the Accredited Practising Dietitian Program (APD)
- Experience in clinical dietetics, minimum of 7 years, including sound background knowledge of paediatrics.
- Specialist knowledge in the field of health professional education and/or experience teaching in the clinical setting
- Professional dietetic performance at an advanced level. This may be demonstrated through the AdvAPD credential or eligibility to meet the AdvAPD credential criteria.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in childhood obesity assessment and management would be desirable.

**About the Department**:
The Department of Nutrition and Food Services at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne incorporates the clinical dietetic service, the main kitchen that caters for inpatient meals and the central formula room that produces formula, enteral feeds and fortifies expressed breast milk to co-ordinate and manage the nutritional needs of patients. We are also a registered NDIS provider and provide a variety of nutritional supports to our patients with a disability. The RCH is a tertiary teaching hospital that supports teaching and training of students and clinical placements as well as other wider teaching programs.
