**About School Mental Health Service**
The new school mental health service has been established to assist in the management of student mental health concerns. The service will provide appropriately credentialed mental health practitioners based in secondary schools with outreach to primary schools in some locations.

The school mental health service will be delivered by school mental health practitioners from a range of different allied health disciplines.

**About the Role**
As the Principal Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a crucial leadership role in our school mental health service. This statewide position involves providing guidance, contributing to the clinical governance framework, and overseeing the design and development of policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will also ensure professional supervision and support for our school mental health practitioners.

The Principal Mental Health Practitioner will be appropriately credentialed and experienced in provision of clinical supervision in supervising professionals in their discipline area.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide specialised expertise and advice to shape the school mental health service;
- Lead the development of the clinical governance framework for mental health services in schools;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and evaluate services, programs, and policies;
- Provide professional induction, support, and supervision to School Mental Health Practitioners;
- Foster strategic partnerships with government and non-government agencies;
- Implement evidence-informed interventions for students with mental health concerns.

**Qualifications**
Essential:

- Bachelor's qualification or specialist/post graduate qualification in Psychology
- Registration with the requisite professional body - AHPRA
- Approved supervisor with Psychology Board of Australia

Desirable: Specialist qualifications in mental health service provision.

**Special Conditions**
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**
