Little TheraPeas is a Paediatric Therapy clinic with a passion for helping children and their families reach independence and success throughout their lives. We are seeking a passionate and approachable Allied Health Therapy Assistant to join our team and assist in expanding our services to clients. The clinic based in Baringa (Caloundra West) however we offer both in clinic and home/school/kindy visit sessions. The Therapy Assistant position is predominately out of the clinic. The position would start as a casual moving to full/part time with client demand and employee preference.

Little TheraPeas currently offers Occupational Therapy and Therapy Assistant services for children aged 0-18years.

Little TheraPeas provides services to children with the following presentations: ADD/ADHD, ASD, chromosomal and genetic disorders, developmental delays, self-care difficulties, handwriting difficulties, motor skill delays, sensory processing difficulties, play skill difficulties, mental health diagnosis and difficulties and feeding difficulties.

Therapy Assistants are here to help and support Little Pea’s existing support systems by providing assistance in the home, kindy/school or community to practice the skills they learn in therapy. Therapy Assistants follow their therapist’s customised home program to work on their unique therapy and NDIS goals.

Therapy Assistants are trained by and work under the supervision of a qualified therapist. At Little TheraPeas this is Occupational Therapists, but may integrate other therapists such as Speech Pathologists or Physiotherapists. Therapy Assistants provide a cost-effective solution to meet the therapy needs if a Little Pea requires increased frequency of intervention.

Your role:

- Visit Little Pea’s in various settings such as home, kindy, school or community spaces within 30minutes of Baringa, QLD where you will provide a home therapy program.
- Provide support to Little Peas to develop social, motor, emotional and attention skills.
- Support Little Peas to participate in daily routines, self-care skill development or leisure activities.
- Provide individualised learning supports that utilise Little Peas therapy goals and strategies in the classroom to support the Little Pea to develop skills such as reading, writing, fine motor skills, behaviour and attention.
- Support Little Peas participation and integration into the community, eg. Shopping, social outings.
- Write case notes providing session feedback to therapists to assist with goal management and treatment planning.
- Work collaboratively with clients, parents, family carers, educators, teachers or other support staff including engagement in stakeholder meetings and case discussions.
- Creating/developing resources such as visual schedules under the guidance of therapists.
- And much more.

You are required to have:

- Open Australian Drivers License
- Roadworthy and insured vehicle. Travel is a mandatory requirement of the position.
- Availability Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm. After school hours are a mandatory requirement of the position.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Engaging, fun and friendly personality with a passion for working with children with complex disabilities.

The following additional attributes will be very highly regarded:

- Prior relevant experience working with children with disabilities.
- Tertiary qualification (or in the progress of obtaining) in relevant field (allied health, education, etc)
- Cert. IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Experience in an Early Intervention program (e.g. DIR Floortime, Sensory Interventions, ABA, EDSM, etc)

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $26.00 - $32.50 per hour
