Port Kembla, Australia BlueScope Full time

BlueScope is an Australian-born, global success story, spanning 18 countries, with a team of over 15,000 people. We’re driven by innovation and are proud that the technologies in our products and brands, like COLORBOND® steel, inspire and protect everything from hospitals and bridges to stadiums and homes.

**The Opportunity**

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Manufacturing team in **Port Kembla** as an **Asset Manager**. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

Due to several exciting projects and opportunities that have allowed some of our people to step into new roles, we now have **three Asset Manager** vacancies available
- **Energy Services Asset Manager**, **Slab Caster Asset Manager** and **Steel Treatment and Slabmaking Services Asset Manager**.

Our Slabmaking department processes iron into steel slabs for the domestic and international markets. We’ve got a large asset base here so it’s important these are optimised - now and into the future.

Our Energy services department is critical to the entire Manufacturing site, the team provide energy and critical utilities essential to keep the plant operating on a 24/7 basis.

In these roles, you’ll develop and deploy our asset management strategy with a focus on safety and reliability. Where you’ll really add value is your inclination to look forward. We’re excited by the advancements in digital and smart technologies - and you will get to shape how such capabilities can strengthen the utilisation and management of our assets for tomorrow

**What Will You Do?**

You won’t achieve all this on your own. Leading your team and collaborating with individuals across Engineering, Operations and contracting firms, you will:

- ** communicate and embed the asset management strategy**: translate this into clear accountabilities and deliverables including cost efficiencies
- ** lead and develop your team**: coach and motivate your team to enhance engagement, capability, performance and talent succession development
- ** optimise operational capacity**: deliver plant and equipment reliability and availability to ensure production targets are achieved
- ** share advancements in asset management**: educate your team and the Slab Casting department to grow understanding and engagement of new asset management approaches and technologies
- ** oversee governance and compliance**: implement and review management systems and processes to meet safety, legislative, regulatory and business policy requirements
- ** facilitate innovation and creativity**: foster an environment that encourages and recognises new thinking and ideas to deliver continuous improvement

**More About You**

We think there’s more than one career pathway that could support your success in these roles:

- you could have a background in maintenance and asset management
- or perhaps you’ve got a manufacturing operations background which exposed you to this

It’s your understanding of maintenance and asset management methodologies and systems that will support your success.

In addition, you will bring:

- a tertiary qualification in an engineering field
- demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- good communication and influencing skills to navigate others through change
- a natural curiosity to keep learning about advancements in your field and technology
- a proven ability to make decisions with consideration to business commercial interests
- a commitment to the safety and well-being of others

**Why BlueScope**

As BlueScope continues to go from strength to strength, a career with us provides you with the opportunity to grow and be rewarded. At BlueScope, you will:

- ** create and deliver innovative solutions** that drive transformation in our business
- ** make an impact **that really does shape the world we live in
- ** keep growing** through continuous learning and development opportunities
- ** enjoy the sense of belonging **that comes from working with people who genuinely look out for one another
