**About the role**

Mater Education has an exciting opportunity for a talented **Learning Support Advisor** to join the team based at Mater’s South Brisbane Campus.

This is an initial fixed term contract for 12 months, working 38 hours per week with possibility for extension.

Mater Education is a leader in clinical education and a nationally, accredited, independent, hospital-based RTO, the only one of its kind in Queensland. With world-class clinical simulation programs, facilities and faculty, we deliver contemporary, interprofessional workforce training and simulation services across a wide range of sectors including health, aged and residential care, direct to the community.

**Salary: Commensurate with experience**

**What you’ll be doing**

As the Learning Support Advisor, you will provide timely and targeted services and initiatives to support the learning needs of all Mater Education students.

In addition, the LSA will work in partnership with the Educators, Curriculum and Student Services to contribute to the work across the following areas:

- Student partnership, leadership development and peer programs
- Delivery and development of Student learning workshops both online and face to face
- Industry engagement and learning
- Resource development
- Student retention and learning analytics
- Professional development to educators

**About you**
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree with a strong relevance to academic language and learning practice.
- Proven experience in promoting and teaching others to develop the strategies needed to engage effectively in learning and personal development in face-to-face and virtual environments within an education environment
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues which affect adult language and learning development, retention and success in tertiary education.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the areas that promote student success
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with a diverse range of student and staff stakeholders at all levels of an organisation and from culturally diverse backgrounds to design and deliver learner centred services and strategies.
- Work within an online teaching and learning environment
