About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Children, Youth and Families Ministry Assistant, at our Box Hill Corps. Reporting to the Corp Officer, this is a permanent part time position.

You will successfully- Undertake Pastoral care and discipleship activities as guided by the Corps Officer.- Support the Corps Officer in setting the vision, mission and strategies of the Corps in relation to young people and families.- Identify current and emerging leaders to coach and equip for the ministry.- Create opportunities for all children to be involved in a discipleship programs E.g. Kid’s Church, Kids Club, School holiday programs, Junior Soldiers Program and Sunday Worship.- Run Safeguard training for Corps Leaders each year.- Assist Corps Officer with research and preparation for sermons and other presentations.

You will have- Diploma of Pastoral Care, Theology, Ministry or significant demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills.- Active involvement in church ministries.- Experience in leading and developing teams.- Understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.- Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
