The Early Years & Family Services team provides responsive, flexible and accessible services to provide children and young people with a voice around matters and issues that concern them.

The Council aims to drive cultural change in the organisation so that protecting children from abuse is embedded in the everyday thinking and practice of leaders, staff and volunteers.

**About the Position**:
Monash City Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to work in the Early Years and Family Services team. The key objectives for the position of Children & Young People Engagement & Safety Officer are:
To ensure the City of Monash continues to meet the Child & Young People Friendly City criteria; and

To ensure the City of Monash complies with the Victorian Child Safe Standards / Reportable Conduct scheme.

**About you**:
Ability to liaise across the organisations to build relationships and effective partnerships.

Ability to work flexibility within a team environment.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Advanced time management.

Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder engagement in order to work collaboratively with local communities.

In conjunction with your People Leader, ability to reflect on and seek to develop own work performance.

Ability to liaise effectively with staff, senior management, and external stakeholders, including Victoria Police and the Commission for Children and Young People.

**Requirement of the position**:
Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Human Services, or other relevant discipline.

Several years’ experience working in, and across, the children youth and family services / human services sector within a large organisation

Experience in training adults for sustainable outcomes

A satisfactory National Police Check, current Victorian Driver’s License and current valid Working with Children Check.

A Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment desirable

Several years’ experience working within a regulated service environment desirable
