THE ROLE

- Wanting to centre the Aboriginal voice and ways of working in system governance for delivery of reform projects?
- Highly organised with experience preparing, planning and supporting governance groups?
The Senior Project and Policy Officer works within a small, high-performing Aboriginal Strategic Governance team. The role will work collaboratively across the department and in partnership with Aboriginal stakeholders to promote and deliver lasting Aboriginal wellbeing outcomes and facilitate self-determination for Aboriginal organisations and communities in all that we do.
You play a key leadership role in the delivery and implementation of Korin Korin Balit-Djak, the department's Aboriginal health, wellbeing and safety strategic plan, and its associated governance and oversight. Your role is to plan, participate in and support key advisory, governance and oversight bodies and associated activities, projects, communications and engagement with community and other key stakeholders.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Help forge strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal services and organisations, government and non-government sectors to facilitate a partnership approach to achieving the strategic priorities outlined in the Korin Korin Balit-Djak Aboriginal health, wellbeing and safety strategic plan.
- Maintain an understanding of issues impacting stakeholders and projects and identify and help manage emerging issues and areas of risk.
- Maintain accurate minutes, records and project management reports to track progress and outcomes of the Korin Korin Balit-Djak plan and the Strategic Governance Forum, and to meet Victorian Aboriginal Affairs Framework and Victorian Implementation Plan for Closing the Gap reporting and other government reporting requirements.
