Reporting to the SAEF Chief Investigator the Associate Research Fellow will undertake research activities in collaboration with other researchers from across SAEF predominantly developing hydrological models of snow-free terrestrial Antarctic regions from satellite imagery and UAS imagery to produce high quality research publications.

To be successful you will have a genuine interest in high quality research in Antarctic moss response to hydrology and climate change. You will have completed or be nearing completion of a PhD in Hydrological modelling, Spatial ecological analysis or related field. Additionally, you will have expertise in analysis of remotely sensed imagery from satellite and/or low altitude sensors including drone based ultra-high resolution imagery. Demonstrated experience analysing imagery in Antarctica or other extreme environments as well as with spatio-temporal data analysis, prediction and visualisation using a variety of software is essential. Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to consult, negotiate and engage with academic and general staff and students both within an academic unit and across the broader university environment are crucial.
