**About the role**

In this highly sought-after casual position as a Soil Sample Receival Assistant, you will support our high throughput CSBP Soil and Plant Analysis Agricultural Laboratory to meet business demands during the busy soil analysis season.

Your responsibilities can include receiving and sorting soil and plant samples from farm, agribusiness and research customers around Australia, along with working as a sample preparer by sieving and grinding soil and plant samples for analysis by our technicians. You may also assist with customer inquiries, data entry and physiological analyses of soil properties where required. This role also includes other duties including washing of lab equipment and general cleaning of the sample receivals and sample preparation areas.

To succeed in this role you will carry out routine tasks accurately and efficiently with confidence in your adherence to strict methodologies for sample preparation. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions are vital for this role. You will be proactive in maintaining a safe working environment, and take pride in delivering quality and consistency in your work as part of an accountable, high performing team.

Our team of casual Sample Receivals and Preparer Assistants are rostered in line with the demands of our busy season, with shifts rostered between the laboratory’s operating hours of 6am-6pm during the summer months, which is until approximately May 2023. Some weekends may be required, typically a Saturday morning shift.

Please be aware that inclusion in the casual pool does not guarantee a set number of shifts or hours throughout the season.
